Person filling out Report: XO Summary Title First sampling (Phase IIa)

Mission Status: Initial sampling.

Sol Activity Summary: Today I performed a first protocol for microbiological sampling (includes gloves, coat and bots sampling). In addition, Quality Control was performed according to CLSI M100-A2 guide.

Look Ahead Plan: Development of a new established sampling protocol. This includes a sampling in the exposed parts of coat, isolated in 3M PetriFlim media and incubation evaluation.

Anomalies in work: No problems. Weather: First QC IIa. Crew Physical Status: Adequate. EVA: Initial (0). Reports to be filed: Commander Report, XO Report, Engineering Report, HSO report and Daily Summary Report. Equipment utilized: Oven at 37ºC, distilled water and volumetric equipment.

SOL 5 - May 6, 2016

Summary Title First sampling (Phase IIa) Lecture and count.

Mission Status: Lecture and performed confirmatory test.

Sol Activity Summary: Today I’m lecturing all plates of IIa phase culture. All quality control media resulting sterilizes. A major report of these lectures was an isolate of Staphylococcus sp. In gloves and coat legs before EVA’s mission. An Enterobacteriae and Fungal media was incubated for 24 hours more.

Look Ahead Plan: In principle, a lecture was realizing for macrocopy process directly of the Film microbiological media. Thus, when discover the possibility of lecturing with Stereoscope, I’m defined and performed a protocol for it use. Some of this results was photograph.

Anomalies in work: No problems. Weather: Lecture and QC IIa phase. Crew Physical Status: Adequate. EVA: Initial (0).

Summary Title: First EVA (Ia) lecture of cultures.

Mission Status: lecture of cultures Ia Phase.

Sol Activity Summary: Today I’m realizing a lecture of totality of cultures. The results show the less growth of bacterium in the media. OnlySthaphylococcus aureus was isolate in four of totality of PetriFilm media.

Look Ahead Plan: A lecture was performed according the CLSI guide. This includes a Count of Colony Formed United (CFU).

Anomalies in work: No problems.

Weather: First EVA (Ia phas lecturee).

Summary Title: Phase IIIa.

Mission Status: Culture on Rover recovery

Sol Activity Summary: Today I’m realizing a sampling on principal parts of Rover recovery before it EVA.

Look Ahead Plan: The process was a sampling of wheel and the principal cube robot. These samples were isolate in the three Petrifilm medium.

Anomalies in work: No problems.

Weather: Phase IIIa, sampling and isolate.

Summary Title: Lecture Phase IIIa. Mission Status: lecture of culture on Rover recovery Sol Activity Summary: Today I’m realizing a lecture of samples derived of Rover recovery before it goes EVA. I found a positive media from cube, the isolate was S. aureus. Look Ahead Plan: The process consists of after incubation, observing the media by stereoscope. Sol Activity Summary: Today I’m realizing the lecturing of all cultures of the phase Ib.

Look Ahead Plan: The process consist in lecturing all Petrifilm media, first macroscopically and before on the stereoscope.

SOL 12 - May 13, 2016

Person filling out Report: XO Summary Title: Sampling Phase IIIb and IIb. Mission Status: Phase IIIb and IIb.

Sol Activity Summary: Today I’m sampling of the Phase IIIb and IIb. In the Phase IIIb I was sampling the Rover recovery of HSO, and on wheels of ATV. In the Phase IIb I was realizing a conventional sterilizing on the suit of two Crew members (HSO and Journalist) and the boots, after I sampling this points and comparing the presence of microbes.

Look Ahead Plan: The process consist in sampling these points and isolate on Petrifilm media and before incubated these media for 24 hours to 37±1°C.

Anomalies in work: No problems. Weather: Phase Phase IIIb and IIb. Crew Physical Status: Adequate. EVA: Initial (2). Reports to be file: Commander Report, XO Report, Engineering Report, HSO report.

Summary Title: End to the Phase IIIb and IIb.

Mission Status: End to the Phase IIIb and IIb.

Sol Activity Summary: Today I’m realizing a lecture of media corresponding to Phase IIIb and IIb.

Look Ahead Plan: The process consists in reading all samples in microscope and stereoscope. Also, these results were analyzed in IBM SPSS for non-parametric test.

Anomalies in work: No problems.

Weather: End to Phase Phase IIIb and IIb.
