In practice, I think that the early settlers will use ~1 meter of soil or water for extra protection and call it a day. But since it seems to be the most effective neutron absorber ever discovered, it certainly deserves to be mentioned. I'll add that it should not come in contact with water in the main article. Hi Michel. It could be sealed in blocks of plastic and placed under the flooring to protect against albedo neutrons. In practice, I think that the early settlers will use ~1 meter of soil or water for extra protection and call it a day.
