Hope Probe, entered Mars orbit February 9, 2021 after being launched on July 19, 2020. It's initial orbit (insertion orbit) is 1000 km by 49,380 Km with a period of 40 hours. In contrast, Hope's science orbit is planned to be 22,000 by 43,000 Km with a period of 55 hours. It's main objective is to study the atmosphere with three instruments.[1] Hope has a mass of 1,350 Kg (with fuel) and is 3 meters by 7.9 meters when solar panels are extended. Solar panels supply 600 Wats of power.[2] This is the first mission to Mars for the United Arab Emirates.[3]
