Integrated energy generation is the strategy of embedding small-scale generators throughout a settlement. The daily activities of residents generate electricity or other forms of energy. Doors could have small generators as hinges. Floors could be fitted with piezoelectric materials. The weight of residents sitting in chairs could help pressurize hydraulic or pneumatic systems. While power produced by single devices will be small, all devices together may be able to supply a signifigant amount of energy.
