Overview
The Titan III space booster was utilized for a range of space missions. The Titan family of expendable multi-stage rockets originated from the ICBM program, the first was established in October 1955 with this mission in mind, but their large payload capability provided many peaceful orbital insertions.
The Titan IIIC, the fifth generation Titan rocket, was used extensively at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and was the primary launch vehicle for the Viking Program.
