Archaea are the microbes constituting one of the three domains of life on earth, along with bacteria and eukarya. They are prokaryotes, meaning that they have no distinguished cell nucleus. They are very simple forms of life, and are much more hardy and adaptable to barely habitable environments. They can exist anywhere that there is water, and some sort of chemical energy than they can feed on.
