Future Martian settlers will have to live in an artificial environment, requiring a number of machines and processes to keep the habitat stable. Temperature and air composition must be controlled. Automation technology can help to free the settlers from doing it manually, allowing more productive work, such as the extension of the colony. The following automation technologies are considered:
