The Houses on Mars are built to make it an artificial habitat for colonists. While houses on Earth have merely a temperature effect, on Mars it must provide:
- a high air pressure
- a completely different composition of air than the Mars atmosphere
- insulation to regulate temperature inside the habitat
- protection from radiation
- protection from meteorites
Houses should be connected to each other to allow people to move freely from one house to another without the need to wear a heavy space suit.
